Stipula Passaporto On Massdrop!

I'm suddenly feeling a lot more hopeful that this may reach the magical 300 mark - I'd begun to reconcile myself to the prospect of paying $75. I really think this is too good an opportunity to pass up - and I'm thinking, should I order (another) one as a birthday gift...?

Well, what I did was commit to buy one at whatever the price was and to buy two more, if the price hits the lowest possible. I know who will receive them as presents already. Surely, you know a dozen or two people that would appreciate a Passaporto, or one in each color?

I wasn't going to say it, but I'd already done something similar - one "join now" and one "commit to buy". Question is whether I go to one plus two, or stay put...

OK, I have committed to 2. I hope this helps and I really hope this pen is as good as you all say :)

I changed from committed at $64.99 to just in. Looks like Massdrop committed to the order with the Stipula. I applaud them for taking the risk.

Only 6 to go, to reach the 300 mark...

Massdrop already placed the order with Stipula. I already got a confirmation email. :D :D

This drop has now (finally) reached critical mass - anyone who wants to buy on at $64.99 still has 2 days to do so. Very chuffed!

Just picked up a third one. Guess I'll be the proud owner of all three colors. Just doing it for the better good...that's how I roll. ;-)

Remember that it was Stipula who set the number at 300 for that price. And, I too am glad that Massdrop figured it made sense to place the order even if they were a few short since it would end up over 300 at some point.

One hour to go before the 'campaign' closes - and 333 pens ordered thus far. I *really* want to buy one in each colour - but sometimes sanity has to prevail...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
