This thread brings tears to my eyes. I'm not sure of the emotion, though.

The end is nigh!

"I have nixed all Noodler's inks in large part because of their feel, but also their behavior, etc. When I put Iroshizuku or Sailor ink into my pens, it's like the ink, pen, and paper are having a 3-some with smooth 'n sultry 70's jazz playing in the background." ~ Betweenthelines

It's not empty yet? Most boring, indeed.

Filling 52. Actually, this is it: only filling 51 1/2. The bottle is empty, the pen (Vista, 1.5 stub) only got half filled.

It's been a, euh, not all that boring journey. Thanks to all the posts and most certainly thanks to all the artwork and gifwork.

And yes, yet another boring disappointment. I'd hoped to get a shot where you'd see the ink level below the label, in the small puddle. There's so little ink there. The converter suddenly looks so large... Maybe next time.

So sad. You know, you should end with some cliffhanger ;)

Probably. Buth then again, it wouldn't be the most boring anymore.

Round two as we now know there are differences in the way in the internal space is presented in these hand made bottles ? ....

Well, we are here at last.

As always, the journey was much more exciting than the arrival.

Now a couple of averages. There were two fills per page in this topic. And each fill was a tiny tad less than 1 ml.

Congratulations :) This is the most entertaining boring thread ever!

Has anybody guessed the number of fills?

We know where you live!

What are your thoughts after all? Do you still like the colour? Do you plan to get a new bottle? :)

this thread is the epitome thread of fountain pen owners and users.

We sort of live in an age of long past. We enjoy what many consider to be "antiquated".

This thread, for me, was extremely intense. it was suspenseful, and it was exciting. I kept on making trends and calculations (im an engineer) about your ink usage, and when will it finally be over. When you said there was only 1 more fill, i kept on checking a few times a day... it was soon to be over.

This is what real suspense is like... not something done and solved within minutes in a movie.

Congrats on using the full bottle! Whats next?

Why dont you share the last words of the bottle with us??

Well, that's it. We all knew this day would come, but, to be honest, I was not prepared for this moment.

It was fun and entertaining. Thanks, KaB for the journey. I'll surely miss the emotion of waiting for another fill.

Now, to end this properly, we need a new gif!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
