Upcoming New Line Of Montblanc Stationery?

EclecticCollector

Recommended Posts

I was at my local Montblanc boutique today and they seemed excited to tell me that Montblanc will be releasing a new line of stationery soon. They were clear that this is different from their current line of Thornwillow products. Has anyone else heard about this, and have more details to share? I was a big fan of their old Meister-Butten papers.

since the world is going notebook mad, they would be crazy not to leverage their well-known brand and start offering stationery

i suspect it will be high end and sell well regardless of quality

They already had an a5 kind of sized notebook refill for leather notebook holders, a4 pads, a5/a6/a7 filofax compatible calendars and phone #. thing is the a4 pad holder was upwards of 600$, the a5 netbook holder 400+, as well as the a5 organizer.

The new ones are at least cheaper, hopefully with good paper.

This might be slightly off topic, but does anyone know what's going on with the ring bound organisers? The pocket and small sized organisers and there refills seem difficult to even find presented on online stores, and the medium and large sized versions seem to be out of stock at more than a few places.

I wonder how Mb will design a distinctive notebook for itself. I'm anxious to see it among the sea of notebooks out there.

Indeed, they can now be ordered from the Appelboom website http://www.appelboompennen.nl I wonder when they're going to show up on the US Montblanc website, they seem to be on the GB site.

AND also @ Courrone du Comte. I received an email today announcing them & although I am NOT tempted to order they were beautifully & TEMPTINGLY displayed! Those prone to temptation have been warned.

Completely ridiculous prices.

Agreed. Really now. they seem to want the business of the top 5%. I do not mind mind overpaying but I do not want to get robbed. I resent the prices.

Anyone like Ray Bradbury? Please read "The Laurel and Hardy Love Affair" if you have about 12 minutes.

You will not forget this wonderful gem that is largely obscure and sadly, forgotten. http://bit.ly/1DZtL4g

They're quite vague about the paper except for the weights (light for the pocket notebooks and the agendas, medium for the A5s, and heavy for the A4s). It will be interesting to see how they behave. I wonder if the boutiques will have sample paper to try.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Resent? are they forcing you to buy them?

As for me, for the moment I'll stick with the regular notebook leather holder with their paper refills instead of the new line with the leather lined notebook, no need to keep paying for the leather, might buy one of the small size just to try it out though.

Montblanc markets to an upmarket clientelle. The prices are according to that market. Too expensive for me but I am sure they have their place. The pics show the paper weight on the cover. Price doesn't guarantee quality so lets wait and see. Look forward to reading a review.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
