Xfountain Pens

I too got my shipping confirmation today, so expect the package to reach my remailer soon - of course then they still have to ship the goodies to me... but I'm not in a great big hurry - just got a package of seven new to me inks from India...

I remember that pen - when I first discovered XFP I bought, among other things, a set of them, in five colors. Some I still have, others made friends and family presents. Nice enough pens.

a fountain pen is physics in action... Proud member of the SuperPinks

I ordered my ink about 2 weeks ago and was starting to get a little irked about how long it was taking so I checked back onto this thread and saw that they were back-logged. I tried to be patient so as not to inundate them with questions since it had been posted here. Low and behold a few days later I had a shipping confirmation, and then today, two days later, I had the package in my mailbox! I went a little crazy with the ink stock-up and my 6 100 ml bottles all arrived with no issue. They also sent a letter and bling pen as apology which definitely made up for any minor delay. I'm glad their delay was because they had too much business.

I always appreciate when a company adds something, or even just acknowledges any delay, so thank you xfountain pens I'll definitely be back in a decade when I run out of all that ink I bought!

Got my package yesterday --all three 100ml bottles arrived safe and sound, and I got the "bling pen" and an apology as well. Great service for good products, and I will gladly buy from them again.

Didn't get a chance to do anything other than open the box yesterday, so now I'm actually up 30 minutes early this morning so I can ink up some pens with my purchases!

Got my order yesterday as well--the free pen is a nice gesture, as is the letter explaining the fulfillment delay. I immediately inked the pen up with Night Sapphire (= Diamine blue-black?) and it's a very nice ink. I plan to fill another pen with it this evening. The nalgene bottles that they now use are handy for travel and an improvement over the squat, round glass jars they had when they first started selling Chesterfield ink.

Interesting approach this company has taken in arranging to market Diamine and De Atramentis ink under their own brands (Chesterfield and Architekt respectively).

Have I missed the boat with this sale? I did not see the link to the website.

LD

It was a 3-day sale that ended on May 29th. :(

Also, their sale prices are usually automatically applied or the e-mail would provide codes - moreso the former than the latter.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
