Chinese Pen Id Help

Starguard

Recommended Posts

I bought this pen on 5/14, I got it today! That is the fastest I've ever gotten anything from China! I love the pen, writes well has a two toned nib with a pleasant amount of flex to it Iridium nib. The description doesn't mention the name of the pen or the manufacturer but in the listing description it said it's a Hero. The pen itself has an inscription on the band on the cap that as far as I can tell says "Boacue" and on the other side the number 9296 is inscribed. I did a search on ebay for fountain pens with that information and got nothing. If anyone would like to give it a shot the ebay listing number is 141662224114. There are some pictures there, but none of them have a close up of the inscriptions.

You are asking for help.

Could you have the delicat attention of including a picture on your message for those you might be as kind as to answer you, instead of making people look for it?

Thank you in advance - I cannot see the pictures on ebay. I was one of those, kind enough to go through the search to try and answer you correctly.

I have absolutely no idea what the maker is at all. If it's your pen, when you get it, you'll know that you are almost certainly FPN's expert on that make.. If so, please describe it for the rest of us.

Regards,

Richard

Sorry for the lack of pictures, I haven't figured out how to upload pictures yet. The instructions on how to use flickr didn't help. I'll try again in a few days.

The seller says, on the description, that the pen is a HERO. Hero is a chinese pen maker (usually many "inspired" models).

I have seen this model announced as being made by Hero, too.

That's what threw me, there is an inscription on the cap that as far as I can tell says Boacue, and a number. I found a Hero pen with that number but it doesn't look at all like my pen.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
