Sailor Storia Lion Light Brown (Pigmented Nano-Particle Ink)

Recommended Posts

Sailor has recently released a new line of ink, the STORiA inks, which are pigmented nano-particle inks like Sei-boku and Kiwa-guro.
I've review Fire Red, Night Blue, Dancer Pink, Clown Yellow Green and Magic Purple.

While all other Storia inks are pale and boring, Lion Light Brown is really a nice colour I enjoy. It's more like a yellow-orange ink.

Writing sample

With a Pilot Falcon SM.

Nice shading, water resistant.

Comparison

With my browns.

I think I should compare it with orange inks as well. I have made the swabs but haven't scanned them yet.

I do love this kind of color... The splash looks amazing, and I love the shading in the writing sample... but is kind of light.

I do like the idea of the water resistance,.. I might have to splurge on this bottle. ;)

Thanks for the wonderful review...

This one is very appealing. Thank you for the review.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Hm...I'm deep in the rainbow black hole of pen blogs, heeeeelp!*

I wonder how this pretty Sailor color compares to KWZ El Dorado. Anyone know?

*Of course, this is not a cry for being pulled out. I have questions!

I don't have the Lion with me to compare, but I'd say El Dorado is somewhat darker and more orange/red? I could be wrong though.

One thing for sure is that El Dorado is definitely wetter, smoother and much easier to clean than the Lion. I'm totally not happy with the performance of the Storia inks.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
