Who Makes A High Quality 2 Drawer / 2 Tray Pen Case?

Keyless Works

Recommended Posts

I need a new pen case and I ideally I would like it to hold around 20 pens. I am looking for something that can safely store my more pricey pens without fear for scratching celluloid/plastic or damaging metal furniture. My budget is around $150 but I can go higher if necessary.

I don't really care how it looks I just want it to have at least one removable tray/drawer and it needs to be preassembled. I would prefer a cotton lining to anything synthetic.

Thanks in advance!

I really struggled to find something that matched your criteria precisely, so a couple of suggestions...

I have this one which I really like. Its heavy and solid but may be too big for you

This chap has got lots of good feed back on the forums and I am sure I read somewhere that he will custom make a case. I didnt buy there because I wanted a glass top

Lots of interesting stuff here, but dont know if it is the quality you are looking for (like the domes!)

My case is a five-drawer case from http://pencase.co.uk. My wife got it for me for our anniversary a couple of years ago, and I love it. Geoff was great to deal with, and I think it would definitely be worth asking about a smaller case to fit your needs. I vaguely remember there being a two- or three-drawer option at one point.

check out aigresti cases. Orbita has a 19 pen case on sale for 300 but you should be able to get one in 20 pen case at a decent price. There are a ton of custom makers.....

Might check with someone like Bryant he might be able to source one or tip you on to a good one too.

Have you considered an old box that could be adapted to hold fountain pens maybe an old cutlery / silverware box I have converted some.

This one was quite large and held forty standard size pens I don't know how easy they are to find in the USA but there are plenty over here.

I would be happy to help you if I can

I ended up buying this cheap one from Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FM1RYOM/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1432164082&sr=1&keywords=pen+case

It's not as nice as the Wolf Designs case but I think it will work if it doesn't cause any problems for the metal furniture on my pens.

The Pelikan box looks like a nice case though the branding is a bit much.

We sell this one. Twenty four pens, top opens, one drawer in front. It's solid rosewood, nicely made. We sell others as well, which can be seen here...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
