Waterman Identification And Repair Help

Dear people of the Waterman forum. I am a sometime contributor to FPN and an avid reader but I am unfamiliar with Waterman pens. A colleague knowing my interest in fountain pens has asked me if I can fix his Waterman which has a broken off clip. I am hoping some of you can help me identify the pen and give me some idea of whether I will be able to source a new clip or cap.

Hi, that is a standard Hemisphere (version 1) in stainless steel and while Rubbermaid could supply a new cap I can probably speak for others and say it will be cheaper to buy a complete new or s/h pen elsewhere.

 

With ebay most private sellers do not know the correct model name either so you will have some trolling to do but they do sell for low money. Make sure you get a version 1 though, denoted by the thin banding on the cap.

Thanks for the quick response Force. I am in Melbourne Australia tonight and happened to have a spare hour. Taft's Pen Shop is near my hotel so I dropped in and was told pretty much the same thing. They said a new cap would be about $65 Australian if they could even get one and a new pen is $130. The new ones look pretty good too.

 

I'll take your advice and give EBay a try. Once again, Thanks for you help.
