Noodler's is one of the companies that don't need introductions. Nathan's Tardiff work is unimaginable. The guy must be a vampire who doesn't sleep and feeds on developing ideas: new inks, new pens.

Brooklyb Brown was one of three exclusive colors made by Nathan Tardiff for Art Brown shop. Sadly it's no longer available as Arthur Brown in New York City had to shutter their doors in 2013. The color is stunning, I would describe it as rich brown with greenish accents. Great stuff.

Nope. I just check the FPH website and it's not listed.

I'm not sure which of the exclusives were originally from Art Brown other than Blue Manhattan (formerly Manhattan Blue). I know that Old Manhattan Black, Ellis Island Blue Black, and Henry Hudson Blue were always FPH exclusives.

Another one of my favorites. I stocked up on it when Art Brown was in business. Thanks for the review.

Are you putting it in the Ink Safe?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I did a little online searching for this ink earlier myself. It appears to be available from http://www.goldspot.com/products/noodler-s-ink-refills-brooklyn-brawn-3oz-bottled-ink, but it's out of stock.

 

Sadly, I believe they bought the last stock from Art Brown. I am not sure, but I don't think Nathan is making Brooklin Brown for Goldspot. I really hope I am wrong.... but they have been out of stock for a very long time. :(

Back on topic:

It's too bad about Brooklyn Brawn. Seeing this review makes me wish I could have tried it as a comparison to Whaleman's Sepia. Which is a great color but just would NOT flow for me. It just clung to the sides of converters and pen barrels for dear life, unless I added a LOT of distilled water. :glare:

You can easily fix Whaleman Sepia with a surfactant. I fixed mine and a friends' with Photo Flow.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
