Metal TWISBI. Spanner works on a Pelikan M800 & 1000. Not on Montblanc.


It also works well on loosening the end cap on an 823. I’ve also found that TWABI grease is well suited on pens that I’m unable to take apart.

Good point. The TWISBI silicone is much thinner than the standard thick stuff you get from most pen shops. There are those times when something light and thin like this is just what is called for. I like having the option. It’s good stuff to have around.

Also, before I start I wrap some masking or electrical tape around the top of the pen near the barrel end so that no damage can occur if the tool slips at all.
