Hi there,

 

Does anyone know about some good fountain pen friendly notebooks (preferably with elastic closure band) with white (and I mean really white) paper.

I have some Leuchtturm and Rhodia webby notebooks but especially the Rhodia notebooks have really creamy/yellowish paper inside which I do not like. I love the Rhodia paper characteristics but not the yellow colour.

 

Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestions, I've ordered several different ones to check out.

You did not specify a size, so I am providing a link to one I have purchased a couple and enjoy. I am a southpaw so I have purchased and enjoy the ones which are for left handed people. They also are flexible in terms of giving you the band in either color, not just the one which is shown on actual sample notebooks. I have both choices, the white and red bands.

Clairefontaine notebooks have white paper, Marumann, Fabriano..

I second this and I use the pocket (9cm x 14cm or nominally A6) ones, along with the A5 all the time. Great pads of paper as well.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
