That's a wonderful looking pen. Very classy, but not gaudy at all.

This was one of my first "high dollar" pen acquisitions, and I've always loved it.

 

Be very careful not to expose it to temperature and humidity extremes. I had to send mine in to have the filling mechanism refitted when I had left it in my car on a Texas summer day, and it all just came apart.

 

I still love it! It's a wonderfully smooth writer, out of the box, no nibmeister tweaking, etc.

 

And it is beautiful in appearance as well as writing characteristics!

Congratulations on an awesome acquisition! The Aurora Afrika was also my first expensive fountain pen purchase. Still my favorite after all these years.

I had been enjoying mine quite a bit. I don't normally go for medium nibs but Aurora makes a really nice not overly fat medium with a pleasant feedback.

Nice! There is something quite sophisticated about the matte and glossy surfaces - it reminds me of a dessert rather than a desert - quite imaginative!
