Gall Gummiberry - Kwzi

Recommended Posts

As some of you may know Poland is one of biggest exporter of cosmetics, furniture and fruits. But we also have inks :)

Hopefully more and more inkthusiasts know what the four letters - KWZI - mean. They mean good ink, saturated color. The fruit of the passion.

You can check Konrad's site here.

Gall Gummiberry is one of Konrad's newest colors I had the chance to sample during polish Pen Show.

Oh...I like it even more now.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I'm sad that I didn't acquire this ink. Next time.

There was mention of this ink on another thread.

You say it's the IG version? OOOOH..... WAAAANT! MUST HAAAAVE!

(Are the images before or after the oxidation, BTW?)

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Those are after the oxidation - but the final saturation of all IG inks is depends highly on type of paper.

IG Gummiberry was made as addition to IG Violet #3 with more purple in it and less pink/red :) - but Agnieszka liked very much the color before oxidation, so I made non IG version of this ink with. Long story short - IG Gummiberry before oxidation will have very close color to Gummiberry, they will not certainly be the same, but they are going to be very close :)

I have a lot of tape - and I won't hesitate to use it!

So, have you recovered yet? Are you ready for round four?

I am. And my inks from round 3 haven't even arrived yet.

My wallet? Not so much....

Oh wow, you were at Pen Show Poland? I'm still working on cobbling together my pen show report.

I picked up two of Konrad's inks, both IG -- Turquoise and Niebieski (blue) #5.

It was hard to choose which one ink I wanted, so I splurged for two. But... the variety!

I'm trying to work with Konrad to get samples together to take to the SF Pen Show in August. He's such a nice guy. It's easy to buy inks from him.

@ethernautrix - yes, I've been to Pen SHow :) It was fun. And I do agree with you that Konrad is great guy :)

Coffe_cup (RKA on FOP) is in the initial planning stages of a Pen Salon in Wrocław, in conjunction with Ewa's calligraphy workshop, near the end of June. If you happen to be in town that weekend, maybe you'd like to stop by. (Pen Salon is the Polish version of Pen Posse. :-) ) It'd be lovely to meet you - and maybe Konrad (cześć, Konrad!) will be there with some inks...! I'll start a thread in the Clubs & Meetings section once details are confirmed.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
