"de Profundis - Letters From The Abyss" - A Lovecraftian Game, Of Sorts

I had been intersted from the start and had sent a letter out to one of the characters. Nothing came back and I suppose this died out before it really got started.

The Google drive is empty and the rule book was put into the users trash.

I would be interested in getting this going. Personal contact and character details could be handled quite easily through PM.

i would still be interested if enough writers join in to make it worth while.

How would you promote the idea and what might I do to help?

One of the problems with DP is that too many correspondents bog down the "game." It can be done easily with two, but (in my experience, at least) 3 is probably closer to ideal. 4 can be done so long as there is serious commitment, but it can be problematic with keeping everyone in the loop (at the very least on an as-needed basis) and developing the plot trajectory.

If you're interested in a triad or quaternion, PM me. I think I know someone else who would probably be interested in this sort of epistolary adventure.

This is indeed, intriguing... I have played pen & paper RPGs since '85 or so, not at all active during the last decade though. Pray tell, this might be fun.

Has any consideration been given to the actual materials being sent via... wire, as a telegram or by other means electronic instead of the physical copies, you understand, to expedite things and guarantee delivery?

Also, this might be the safer option during this dreadful time, with that horrid fever ravaging the world outside the confines of our safe havens and homes.

The last I heard "it" had reached New Rochelle, with rumors whispered of strange things going on in the Big Apple proper. Ills of the body and mind, quite awful, if I may say so...

I pray that I hear from you all in good health.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
