Stipula Vedo Troubles

I thought I should be able to pull the nib and feed out of the (nib and feed) assembly, in order to do a good cleaning. Guess I don't have the physical strength necessary to grip and pull it out.

I have never been able to extract the nib and feed from the housing of mine, despite the use of gripping materials.

I think I have done all I can myself with these pens. I bought 2 of them from Swisher pens in 2009. They are no longer in business.

I was rather surprised when I looked back and saw what I paid for these. I do not view them as cheap pens.

Anyone use Yaffa in the USA for Stipula service? At this point I am thinking I should contact them.

I have used Yafa several times and always found their service to be excellent. Main contact for service is Clara Cornett: claracornett@yafa.com

I sent mine in to get the leaf emblem replaced. I don't recall how long it took but it wasn't anything inordinate.

Thanks, for the response. I keep thinking there should be a "like" button on this forum to at least acknowledge one has viewed a post.

Just my two yen worth. The Vedo, new version, was my first Stipula. Purchased at discount at Maruzen's pens fair last year, it is such a great writer that I have been searching for deals on Stipula pens ever since. The Novencento Olivo LE and Model T pens, along with my Vedo, are among my best writing pens.

I am not sure what you mean by the new version. Is your's a piston filler, or cartridge?

I received my pens back from Yafa. It seems they adjusted and shipped them back within 24 hours. I have had them both dry up on me while tightly capped overnight. I just used plastic wrap to temporarily cover any holes in the cap at the cap and emblem. I have Waterman ink in both pens. I like these when they work.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
