KWZ Honey ink finally came up to the top of my "to buy" list. Thanks to Vis for taking the time and effort to review this awesome ink and to Vanness for stocking it here in the States. Kudos to Konrad...once again. It's everything I hoped it would be.

I love it, but this ink has literally destroyed my TWSBI Eco. Seems to react with something. Please be careful. DID anyone had my same experience? Maybe it's just my batch but be careful especially on higher end pens

I've never had any bad experience with KWZ inks. What happened to your pen?

I'll post photos as soon as I'll able, but for some reason ruined the piston and made it scratch all the inside of the barrel. Moving the piston became quite difficult. Asked twsbi and they replied saying it's a common issue for their pens on kwz inks. Doesn't mean all kwzis are the same, for example the ig turquoise on my vac 700 was safe.

 

I just wanted to warn everybody to be aware. I'll try honey on my jinhao and see if the problem is common to other pens or only on some.

I seem to have read something like that before. Was it you? Maybe Konrad can look into this.

Nope, wasn't me.

It just happened today. :( Such a shame, this is a marvellous ink and kwzi its such an interesting brand.
Kwzi contacted me, was very kind and they're figuring out what happened.

Haven't noticed this issue yet in my Twsbi Eco after 2-3 fills with Honey, but it would be interesting to figure out. On a previous thread, Konrad mentioned a possible chemical/physical reaction that could be occuring to cause this.

 

Out of curiosity, did you add any silicone grease to the piston before using KWZ Honey?

By the way it's not acceptable that an ink becomes this aggressive just for being slightly in contact with silicon grease, which is a rather common content in a fountain pens.

Oh right I remembered... in another post someone has the same problem, and it's probably due to the reaction with something in the silicon grease. It's said that not all silicon grease is of the same ingredients...

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..
