Indeed! I'm sorry I didn't see the catalog offer in time to ask for one, but those pictures are amazing.

So space and time are linked together. As we are looking across space, we are looking back in time. The further and further away those stars are the further back in time you are looking. Now you are seeing a star that is say six thousand years ago. Imagine somebody at that star looking at us They would be seeing us as we were six thousand years ago. Which of those two is now? - Alan Parsons Project The Time Machine - Temporalia (Paraphrased)

Hi gang,

Finally I have a pdf link to share! This pdf will display an exact replica of the print catalogue for those of you who were unable to get a copy:

Here is a link to the online sale itself:

I hope all of you enjoy seeing these wonderful pens! It was a great pleasure to research and catalogue them.

Cheers,

I just got a copy today. The pens--especially the vintage maki-e, give me heart palpitations. Thank you for this unbelievably beautiful catalogue.

Mine arrived yesterday as well -- thanx!

It looks like the auction will feature the usual (bleep)-load of Mont Blancs, and quite a few namiki and maki-e pens as well. Compared to the auction I "attended" last December there are far fewer Parkers and Pelikans, and also unlike that sale nothing I strongly want -- but there are plenty of goodies worth keeping an eye on in case a bargains rears its pretty head. ;)

For those interested -- don't forget you have to register to bid in advance, and if you haven't done that before the process can take a couple days. So don't put it off 'til the last minute.

Received my catalogue in the mail yesterday, a beautiful piece of pen photography. Makes me want to spend some serious money earmarked for a new house.

Thank you very much for the great catalogue, sad I can't be there in person.

Received mine yesterday as well, thanks again! Surprisingly, there are a few items within my budget... this is not good. ;)

I got my catalogue too and said exactly the same thing. After running to my husband and showing him the Einstein. Haha (totally not in my budget).

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

The Leonardo demonstrator caused me to wish that I were a successful hedge fund manager. :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
