Hello friends ,

Greetings !!

My never ending search continues for new FPNs

Introducing a brand new Indian eyedropper .. Mohi front window eyedropper from Abhay pens , Aurangabad , India

I have already posted my detail visit report to their shop here : https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/288482-visit-to-two-old-cities-and-some-new-indian-fountain-pens/

Thanks to fellow FPN member AMK ..

At the time of my visit to his shop , Mr Pathak shows me his all ebonite and acrylic models . I grabbed all of them , but this one is my favorite.

Details :

Construction and Quality : An immaculate fusion of acrylic and ebonite . Barrel, section and cap are turned on a CNC lathe . You need not to worry about manual errors. Polishing is done in a wonderful manner.

Cap : Ebonite cap with chrome plated ornaments , teardrop clip and cap ring . Cap is slightly rounded on top. Cap is having multi start threads , it unscrews in just one turn.Clip is embossed with "Mohi" letters

Section : Tapered section having a small hump at end . Grip is very comfortable for any person having small or medium size hands.Nib and ebonite feed are press fitted. Section is having single start threads . Tight fit with barrel.

No issue for long writing sessions.

Barrel : Most attractive feature is nice and broad transparent acrylic ink level window , which is generally absent in most of Indian ebonite eyedroppers. Its a pocket size pen. Slight taper towards end . Cap posts nicely. Pen feels more balanced with cap posted.

Nib and feed : This one got his own "Mohi" nib that writes between medium and fine. Smoothness is slightly lesser than Wality nibs . Regular ebonite feed works well.Writing example attached

Performance : I have using this pen since a week . Even at low ink levels , no bad eyedropper behavior observed.

Overall good workmanship. No ink skipping after carrying this pen in shirt pocket during long bike rides in Pune streets.

Cost : INR 300/- ; Total value for money

It is Gr8 to see Indian FPN manufacturers are coming with new and attractive designs and started using new technology like CNC .

Hope u all will enjoy this review as usual .

Comments are always welcome .

Sincerely ,

Indian 2 Stroke Diesel Loco

Dear GT46PAC, Thanks for the review, of all the models you posted in your visit report, I liked this one the best. I am not aware of any other manufacturer using CNC, several are using compression and injection molding, but you cannot do that with Ebonite for which turning is compulsory.

Best

Hari

Thanks for posting this review. A very nice-looking pen.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
