The last few days, I've been taking a green M800 to work with me. It is a first year with the logo on the cap and the brass button on the bottom and W. Germany on the band. It has a nice medium nib and Pelikan Black ink. I filled it in February while at the LA Pen Show. It is a really nice pen and it brings a smile to my face every time I use it.

At yesterday's pen posse people were guessing my daily carry Pelikan is either a 200 or 250 BB. It's got the "older" top of cap, but says "Germany" on it. The guesses were that it was the old style but just after the Berlin wall came down.

My daily writer is a M800 black and green with a EF nib. I typically use it with Pelikan black or blue-black ink as it behaves well on cheap paper.

M215 is the daily workhorse, M800 leads the show during formal meetings and presentations.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
