Does anyone happen to know which size aerometric English Duofold nib would be a good fit for a NS pen?  I have only one NS and it has a Sheaffer nib.  I'm inclined towards the standard (25), but I have seen a couple of AFs fitted with senior (35) nibs so I wonder if this would be a better size.  .

Thanks

John

If I recall correctly, must of the NS models I have seen have had nibs that are simply marked "duofold" rather than having the size showing. I would guess they have equated to the 25 / 35 nibs you speak of.

I have a standard Aerometric Duofold which pre-dates the move to numbered nibs and is stamped "PARKER DUOFOLD 14k PEN N" . I expect, but can't be certain, that this would be the same size as the later size 25 Standard nib. My Aerometric Senior, stamped 35, is considerably larger and much wider at the section (4.8mm vs 5.8mm). I can't imagine them being interchangable.

Not sure, but I raided my spares draw and this might help:

The top three are a 35, 25, and 10

The bottom 4 are the sum total of the loose "Duofold N" nibs in my possession. Whilst not all exactly the same size, I reckon most are nearer to 35 than 25.

Is the curvature the same at the section end?

Thanks for that.  I think I will be doing some dismantling and measuring over the weekend!  I'm tending towards the nib fitted to the standard Duofolds (on later pens a #25), I think I have a spare unnumbered one on a blue pen I've never much liked.
