Lanbitou Pocket Rocket With International Ink Cartridge

Sorry if I made anyone think the above tittle is a pen currently available. :P

(Unless someone happens to know that it is, that would be great news).

This is more of a wish than anything else. I own a couple of Lambitou Pocket pens, and at least one of them is very smooth, the other is ok. They would be ideal little pens if it wasn't for the annoying mini bladder that holds almost no ink!

A Lambitou pocket pen with an international ink cartridge would be essentially a Kaweco Liliput clone. Sorry to those who hate chinese clones, I think that would be a dream chinese pen (at current price levels at least).

I wonder if the Shangai company reads these forums . . . .

I would love to see this too.

In the meanwhile I would be ok if I could find a safe way to turn this pen into an eyedropper.

Given the pen's price I don't really care about corrosion, but the idea of a permanent ink all over my stuff.... :yikes:

Should be doable with silicone grease, not sure whether a ring would fit such a small pen. Why not experiment with safe ink first, see how it turns out?

I saw an sbrebrown review where he mentions using Teflon spray for just that purpose, so there you go. :P

Might give it a go with some Quink Washable Blue. But TBH, I am almost sure it will be a tragedy. The pen body itself is not all that well made. I can alter its shape by squeezing it with my bare hands.

A little off topic, but only slighty...

I just recieved my Lanbitou black "pocket rocket" from an eBay seller in China yesterday.

No sign of the all chrome version, but they are selling the black ones again.

May be limited stock, but there are some out there.

Plus the Lanbitou Space Pen is also listed.

I agree, the main limit in the small ink bladder.

But the nib on mine is smooth as silk. :)

Not by much, the intent of the topic is to stir the pot, maybe someone will come up with something as a result of enough discussion about this subject.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
