See this is my 30 step program. I empathize, with you, I am in the same place ink-wise. I have many, many inks now to last several months or years; still, I have ordered more sample inks, which are on the way to me.

So, Massdrop sends me notice of drops, this was one sent to me. This is one of three I am sharing, which I do not need to participate in under no circumstances.

Among other elements of this self-designed program, sharing Massdrops for others here on FPN. What does it do for me?? No affiliations, not being paid at all for anything. However, I am not alone in my suffering; I have plenty of company; I am not responsible, since I am just passing along information and the direct links.

Finally, saves ME multiple headaches. :lticaptd: :lticaptd: :lticaptd:

I think there should be pop up that comes on the screen every time we log on - it could say -

Too late. Did you see the Massdrop I shared for the Franklin-Christophe journals? Well, just got in on the Mass drop for them. I guess this is similar to the diet people start on January 1st, only to be abandoned about this time. Guess there is always tomorrow and hopefully a Massdrop which does not interest me. There would have to be more than that warning on the screen for some of us, perhaps a countdown, then a black screen for certain length of time. It may not delay the inevitable, but at least we could pause before pressing the keys to our inevitable virtual destruction by this passion's delights! :lticaptd:

I was on another site and saw a couple of vintage pens that I wanted (not the bay). I emailed the seller that I wanted the two pens. Fairly quickly he responded to tell me that the one I really, really wanted was gone and did I want the other one. It was soooooo difficult to say thank you, no and then stick with it.

It's not like I need another pen or ink or paper. I have about 50-75 old third tier pens waiting to be resacced and maybe a bit of nib polishing so that I can sell them, make some money and but something I really want.

Well, at least I am a pen user - 20,000+ pages of journals can testify to that!!

Same here. I am looking at an entire basket of blank journals. Even my keeping two at a time is not putting a dent in my collection and I am going to be getting 2 more. I am going to send one to my grandson. Wish he used plain/unlined. He is in NYC and upon calling him, he said he prefers lines. Oh well. to each....

Fort Hood, right?

No, I have to smile. I thought so also. Many years ago, I was stationed at Fort Hood and could walk to their telepad, or where they kept their helicopters, etc. I loved the sight of them all lined up like they were in formation. Well, no actually Fort Bragg is the largest installation, believe Fort Hood is either two or three on the list. I just sent my grandson my old field jacket with my insignia of First Calvary Division. It is one of the very old ones which was solid green. Do you believe not only can he fit it, says it is loose like he likes it. He is 16 years old and he dresses in boots. Well, he just got it earlier this evening, I mailed it to him. He immediately put it on. He also went to the store with it on. He may not take it off to sleep. He has been told to not sleep in it, yet I think he will probably be sleeping in the field jacket. :lticaptd:

Sounds interesting. Would like to "chat" a bit more as you sound like an interesting person as well.BUT, as Groucho said, "Hello, I must be going."

In this case it is because I have a meeting in a few hours - around 7:00 so it's time to settle in for the evening.

Well, hoping your meeting goes well. I came back simply to post this response. I am a wee morning owl, if there is such a thing. Love the wee hours of the morning. And, truly I am pooped. 2nd week of my walking program; made it 6 times around a small track. First time I did it, even though I had to stop several times. One step at a time....

Well, here is another Groucho quote for your day ahead:

Here's hoping today is your day! Be Well.

Well, here is another Groucho quote for your day ahead:

Actually everyday is my day. In fact, I decided a couple of weeks ago that EVERYDAY is my Birthday. One of my favorite authors wrote, "Every problem has a gift attached to it. We seek out the problems because we want the gifts."

I'll share more later in an IM

And great morning to you as well. BTW, the meeting went very well. And thank you for the good wishes.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
