Well I'm not trying to be. If we feed the profiteers, they'll just keep doing it. I think we just need to be patient and the MB stores will get more. It might be a few weeks, but that just gives us more time to enjoy the inks and samples we already have. See win-win. :)

Sorry, I thought you meant it tongue-in-cheek. I agree with you in general, however supply and demand is a powerful thing. And human impatience even more powerful :) One of the buyer pitfalls of online auctions is the assumption that, if it's on an auction site, it must be a good deal. Erroneous, foolish but I'm sure we've all seen it. And scarcity, or perceived scarcity, drives that car even faster.

Thank you for the comparison. It was informative.

I got tired of waiting for my local boutique to get it in so I ordered it from the Netherlands. If you waste, err I mean spend, enough shipping is free. With the strong dollar it was under $12 a bottle.

My local Paradise Pen has two bottles left, $20/bottle. They are holding them for me until tomorrow. Do I need to send any to Las Vegas or anywhere else? I promise to not even include any bad lawyer jokes in the deal.....

You and Science Chick are awesome.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Awe shucks. It's not a problem ma'am. The ink is paid for, I am picking it up tonight after work and will mail tomorrow if possible but Saturday for sure. You ladies will be dripping in pink by Monday.

Oh my, now there's a picture I can't get out of my head.

I enjoy MB 146 pens, Sailor, Pilot and Platinum pens as well. I have a strong attraction to dark red and muted green ink, colors I dislike for everything but FP ink. I also enjoy practicing my handwriting and attempting to improve it. I love the feel of quality paper under a gold nib.

I'm staring at a big cart from Cult Pens, as our own enabler amberlea mentioned it to me and I found all SORTS of delicious things...

Oh well, may as well look. What's the worst that can happen? :)

Appelbloom. They offer 10% off for FPN. The price per unit drops after 3, 5 and 10 bottles. Free shipping on over 100 Euro.

MB is not included in the discounts. Wink wink.

I don't think that's a glare exactly, Lou. I think your wallet is feeling bloated and imploring you to thin it down a bit. :vbg:

Thanks for the fantastic review. Love that color. I called 3 MB boutiques today and they all seem to know nothing about it. The MB website says it not available.

That hasn't been possible since I bought the house... I've spent more at IKEA this year than I have on pens.

I have set myself a pen budget that keeps me honest.

Thanks for the fantastic review. Love that color. I called 3 MB boutiques today and they all seem to know nothing about it. The MB website says it not available.

I also called the MB website and the girl suggested I sign up for a restock notification email. She said I would know before her when it was in stock.

Thank you for this amazing review Cyber6! This ink is much more beautiful than I had even anticipated! Definitely moved from "want" to "must have asap" status! (You are such an inky enabler! lol)

I was wondering, could you please compare this with Diamine Deep Magenta, if you have it? DDM is a pink ink I have a sample of and was thinking of getting, but I want to see how it looks compared to MB Pink.

So far all my pink ink bottles are purple leaning (Cactus Fruit Eel, Emily Dickinson, etc) or pastel (J Herbin pinks)....I definitely need a bright PINK Pink Ink! ;)

I just put in an order for a bottle of this with Anderson Pens since they have it in stock. If I end up really liking it I'll order another bottle or two when availability is a little more widespread.

Sorry, I do not have Deep Magenta... I would be very interested to see that comparison too... :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
