I saw that today too. I was looking through the colors, and noticed it is limited to just 20 of Noodler's stock. I couldn't find an example for General of the Armies on their site, but I did find this announcement, which states it is a "cavalry blue" color.

Antietam
Army Green
Baystate Cape Cod Cranberry
Bernanke Black
Bernanke Blue
Black
Black Swan in English Roses
Blue Black
Burma Road Brown
Concord Bream
Dragon's Napalm
General of the Armies
Habanero
Kiowa Pecan
La Coleur Royal
Mandalay Maroon
Midnight Blue
Ottoman Rose
Q-E'ternity
Saguaro Wine

It's too bad there isn't a wider selection of colors to choose from.

I already have a full bottle of BSiER and don't really need a 2nd bottle, yet.

Antietam is the only one that jumps out as one of the colors I had been thinking of getting.

So maybe General of the Armies and Saguaro Wine (but I already have plenty of purplish colors and don't really need more).

My fountain pen collection has informed me, if I purchase one more ink, they will need to diet. My sample inks and Iroshizuku inks say if I buy one more ink they will color my world and it won't be pretty. :lticaptd:

I understand. Perhaps my pens and inks are saying something similar to me. :)

Shame there's not more color choices. That's a great deal!

I know! I'm sure if given enough time I could pull 5 off the list. The question remains, do I need 5 more bottles of colors i would not have neccessarily picked otherwise? Hm.

I found this post calling it a "color changing ink" which I can't confirm, as I don't own it. But if anyone's curious!

Looks too pale for my liking. Not enough POP!

I agree. It looks like one of those which looks better in the bottle than it looks outside of it to me.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

In my opinion, unless you have access to Magic Cashmere or one of the other Blackstone ink powders, avoid Concord Bream.

I love Amber's drops of inky wisdom.

I'm curious to hear what other people ordered. I am giving myself until saturday to change my mind and cancel before I get buyer's remorse.

I like all of those. Midnight Blue is one that I really love. I don't own LCR or OR, but I've tried them both and they are very pretty. I think you will enjoy them.

Hmm. You still were able to pick General of the Armies today? Bloody thing has been grayed out for me since day 1.

You should fiddle with the order of your choices. There were some inks greyed out for me in earlier options but if I rearranged my choices I was able to get the inks I wanted. Double check!

I did the same thing. I'm not sure if that is a MassDrop bug with their dropdown choice system, or the way they intended to limit a certain number of bottles for each choice? Worst case, I won't get Antietam or General of the Armies, both of which were grayed out on some of the drop downs. I am crossing my fingers and hoping at this point!

Also I just noticed they added more colors, so you can edit your transaction and add the new ones if you so desire.

Added:

Bad blue heron

Bad green gator

Beaver

Burgundy

Green Marine

Park Red

Purple Wampum

Summer Tanager

Turquoise

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
