Are Both These Pens Waterman Graduates?

Hi there-

 

I have two Waterman fountain pens - one received as a gift from my sister in law, who lives in France, and the other I got on Ebay a few years ago. I didn't get the box for the pen I got from my sister in law, but the Ebay Waterman was advertised as a Graduate. There are a number of differences between the two pens, including different barrel diameters, different shapes of the caps and barrels, and the grip on the one I got as a gift is faceted.

 

I've attached some pics below. I'm inclined to say that they're both Graduates, just different iterations. Can anyone confirm that or identify the pens? Thanks!

I've been going through this with a ballpoint+roller set, and it appears that the Graduate model has evolved a bit over time. My set has the plain chrome cap and squared-off clip like the one on the left in your photos. It might be that one version comes from Waterman's promotional line, but that's just speculation.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
