yes, of course!

I mean: the price you see is already VAT-free, if you're actually located out of Europe.

Ah well... :(

Too bad Pelikan choose to stop carrying the nibs I prefer. You might want to let them know they lost a sale. In the old days I would have asked for a BB and perhaps another with an OBB or O3B.

I would like to second this statement. I have recently purchased a Pelikan M 600 on Massdrop a few months ago and was impressed with it's feel, balance and smooth writing out of the box, especially for a modern pen and would highly consider buying in the future but I have quite a few of the standard nibs on other pens.

Thank you, anyway.

Darn you people! I just jumped off the deep end (again!) and ordered one. Just couldn't resist any longer.

Pelikan makes also "special" nibs (BB, OB, OBB, OM) but they're to be required from German head office.

Moreover, I think they can be available only for normal Souveraen, not for special editions like this one. (But I'll ask)

Thanks!

I received mine yesterday in the post. It was a fine in normal M800 packaging. The Stresemann is a "regular" addition to the M800 range. The one Giardino is selling is a special pesentation of a regular issue pen. The Stresemann (Antracite) may sell for more than the other M800 regular pens, but it is stll going to be sold on an regular basis.

As far as the IB nib is concerned, you can always purchase it separately, but the problem is that the IB nib is only produced in gold/silver, not in the full rhodinized nib. My Stresemann has a Fine point nib. I have an IB nib, and I might consider switching, but I'm not certain that I want to give up the all silver look, and have one of my other M800 pens be left with an "all" gold body, and an "all" rhodinized nib.

By the way, as is almost always the case with my M800s, the pen writes and works beautifully.

The Souveraen 805 Stresemann is indeed a variation of the regular Souveraen 800.

Same size and model.

Colors change: for the pen itself, and for the trims, which are silver insted of golden. Nib is white gold instead of bicolor.

These are the main features that make it a special edition, and not a regular edition.

The other difference is the continuity: Pelikan has been producing the Souveraen 800 for decades, and will probably continue forever, while the 805 Stresemann is being produced for a limited time only.

In few months it will be discontinued and next year it will be completely sold out everywhere.

@ therecorder: you didn't buy it from me, did you? Because I'm shipping with the large round box with ink bottle... B)

Susanna...

Aso the all black and the black and blue M805s are now "all" silver.:

http://www.pelikan.com/pulse/Pulsar/en_US_INTL.FWI.displayShop.91548./souveraen-black-blue-silver

Pelikan, in its online catalogue, lists the M805 Stresemann (Anthracite) under its "regular" Souverean pen page:

http://www.pelikan.com/pulse/Pulsar/en_US_INTL.FWI.displayShop.91485./souveraen

... NOT under its Souveraen Special Editions:

http://www.pelikan.com/pulse/Pulsar/en_US_INTL.FWI.displayShop.93392./souveraen-special-editions

In fact, on the Pelikan M805 Stresemann (Anthracite) page, the following is stated:

"Both the suits and the pens still carry that name to this day. To officially acknowledge and honor this legend, Pelikan has now named the latest addition to the standard collection, the Souverän with elegant stripes in anthracite, the „Stresemann“."

http://www.pelikan.com/pulse/Pulsar/en_US_INTL.FWI.displayShop.203919./souveraen-805-stresemann

No, Susanna, I did not purchase my Stresemann from you. However, I think that the price you are charging, with the special packaging and ink, is very fair, and the Streseman is a "must get" for all M800/805 fans.

Thanks for the information. The IB will have be my standard Pel nib until they see reason. I've pretty much rolled over to Omas stubs & italics, Aurora italics, and my faithful Visconti 1.3 and MB BB/OBB now that CS is gone and I can't get their IB nibs.

I received mine here in Texas last week. I got the EF and I love it. It is a good looking pen though kind of understated. Writes very well. Thank you Susanna!

Beautiful pens. I need to start saving.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
