Wow! Two pen announcements in one day. You are stretching my pen budget.

I may be crazy, but in addition to the CAISO demonstrator, I sent an email trying to get in on this one as well...

You are crazy. Crazy about Conid pens! They are very nice pens. I especially like the titanium nibs.

Francis, is there any update on the timing of this pen? Is October still a valid timeline?

Yes Tojusi, the "cappuccino" is still planned for availability in October.

Although - given the priority given to the CAISO demonstrator- it will most probably by the end of October.

I find this material very attractive. I have an Edition, Stipula and Aurora that are similar in materials, but different enough to be interested in this Bulkfiller. I like the window, potential flex and ink capacity.

great application of the style too.

Thanks cjbrown !

Please note flexibility of a titanium nib is not comparable with the excellent flex of a vintage nib.

But one can easily install a vintage size 8 nib for more expressive writing !

Hi fountain pen friends !

We are evaluating the use of the "transparent tortoise" celluloid for the FPR- LE Caiso Kingsize bulk filler. (see link below)

What do you think , is this a material you would like?

Thanks in advance for your valued input !

Regards, Francis

Francis, in about two weeks time the Annual Tilburg Penshow is about to happen. Will you attend again? Will Werner be with you?

I have a few pens that need work. Do you have time these days, or are you too busy with the new productions?

Hi Dick,

Given the actual workload on the new Bulkfillers, CONID nor myself will participate to the Tilburg pen show this year.

No problem as for repairing your pens, you can send them to me, specify the repairs they need, and i'll repair them for you .

Please contact me and I'll give you the shipping address.

Best regards, Francis

We'll miss you........ but I understand.

The next week will be the big day for CAISO at the London show I understand. Good luck with that.

I'll PM you as I lost my old email in a computer crash.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
