Gorgeous, yet no XF nib? Wonder whether they will allow a purchaser to switch out one of the other nibs, say a fine, for an XF. Or is this a case for a Nib Meister.

A great looking pen (imagine it filled with Topaz, or Aventurine). I can't tell you how happy I am that this pen is in the 800 range. Now if this were a 600 series pen, I might not be able to resist the back hole gravity.

Interesting, but in a pen of that price range I prefer a "finished" model, not a demonstrator!

Time to start saving for another Pelikan or two. I still haven't received my Stresemann.

I'm still trying to figure out how to list all my pens down here.

I agree..especially the version that is "dissected & labeled".

Very nice...I hope they bring back the M800 Demonstrator as well, I never got around to purchasing one during their initial run and like its look even more than the all silver version.

I think that looks like quite a pen. If the prices fall in line with what I think it will cost, I will be adding one to my collection.

It's a damn shame that the nibs are pared down to F/M/B, but I guess I can just have it reground to my desired tip.

Oh my--I really like this, and the 800 size is perfect. I have to admit, that I am drawn to the model with all the labels... hope I can afford one!

At $500-600, this is a pricey pen and it's going up directly against the Stresemann which is going to make some people have to choose. Two awesome 805's are welcome but it would have made more sense to me to release something in the M6xx line so as not to cannabilze sales from the same line.

I agree; if these had been released a year apart I would get both, but as of now I want the Stresemann more so I may not end up getting this. If the demo was a M6xx I would probably get both.

Well you know Sarge, the M600 is the red headed stepchild for some reason.

Anything about the price? Couldn't see one on the linked page.

I came across an FB post today(shared by Pelikan) of this m805 demo LE with a list price of 530 EUR (April-2015 launch)

There have been many M6xx special editions in the last years.

The M600 green o' green, M600 Ruby red, M600 vibrant green, M600 white tortoise, M605 blue mare...

And this year a pink M600 is expected.

i had heard this was coming... but the version with markings is a surprise! i have the older 800 with markings so i guess i have to get this one too, no? and i have the m1005 demo so maybe it would be cool to have a plain 805 demo too, right? and then it has also been reported that there is an orange 800 or 805 on the release calendar for 2015 - which is my favorite color - so i gotta do that one too for sure.

i am starting to think that pelikan may be taking advantage of weak people like me :(

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
