Valentines Update At Main Street Pens

MainStreetPens

Recommended Posts

Quite a few pens sold since the last update, so we've done one for mid-February as well. Some rather nice pens have been added, including a rather rare Esterbrook, and one of the first FPN pens offered nearly a decade ago that's in excellent condition. Leather clutch cases are back in stock. They're ideal for carrying in a laptop case.

Check out the pens, cases, and the pens offered on Cheapskate Alley starting on the main sales page at Main Street Pens.

I wish I hadn't looked as I can't buy any because I live in the UK. However, I have seen one that I would buy in a few months if it's still around when I visit FL. I bought your Sheaffer Stylist last year so it's sort of set a precedent....

Ron, how are the shipping costs these days? I hear prices just gone up from ridiculous to murderous.... ;)

At the moment first class registered mail (which is how we ship to destinations outside of the US) is about $23 for one pen, and about $3 for each additional pen, assuming no pen box is being sent. We charge actual rates as estimated by the USPS. You can see them on the USPS website - starting with 3 an average of ounces for a pen, box and packing material.

I sent you guys an email but haven't heard back. I want to purchase something off your site (not a pen) but am confused on how I'm supposed to initiate that.

I have purchased from Ron before; as I recall, he responded to my email inquiring about the item the same day I sent it. Perhaps he is just super busy this week. I would say to wait another day and if you still haven't received a response, email him again. Emails do get lost in the shuffle....

A lot of folk are really bothered by the weather conditions.

Sometimes clearing away snow, or repairing a roof or things like that take priority over emails.

I don't know if this applies to Ron, but I have certainly heard from friends in that part of the USA and Canada it's not funny...

Just to clarify since apparently there have been assumptions about my tone-

I haven't purchased from them, didn't know if emails were the right method, and since I had no response I was just posing a question here. I live in the north-east, I know about the inclement weather- though not as severe I've been dealing with it also. I'm just an interested party wanting to spend some money :)

If you haven't heard from me by now, either your email got blocked, or mine did. If the subject line was blank, you wouldn't get a reply.

Odd- I sent it from my work email (a .org) and it has a subject line (I never send an email without one, unless it's to myself). I suppose I'll try again from gmail. Thanks for letting me know you didn't recieve it!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
