Just received this reminder for the Baltimore Pen Show from Burt Oser. Less than a month away, can't wait!

Last year's show was the very first pen show I ever attended. Had wonderful time as did my wife who isn't even into fountain pens. Great venue, easy to get to and plenty of free parking.

They're saying the deadline for the hotel rate was Friday. Do you think that if I call the hotel that will be extended? I found out over the weekend that I might just be able to time it right (simply because the thing I normally do in March is starting later than it usually does).

If the hotel does not give you the show rate, call Bert Oser at his store (Bertram's Inkwell). He has helped me in the past with reservations for his pen shows. Joe

I just called the hotel. The BWI Amtrak Station is not within walking distance, but they do have a shuttle that operates 24 hours and goes there every half hour.

Thanks--most helpful...!

[know it will sound odd, but...] I work right down the road from the hotel and the Amtrack station, if anyone needs a quick ride on Friday, send me a quick PM. I'll probably be there at opening time.

For those of you who have also went to Philly before, can someone give me an idea of how big the Baltimore pen show is compared to the Philly one? In terms of vendors that are there, number of people, etc.?

Current Wishlist:

Visconti, Visconti, and...more Visconti! (And some ST Duponts too). (Ok fine, getting on the Omas and Montblanc trains now too. Toot toot.) (And maybe on the Montegrappa one too, but only for the Miyas.)

It's a smaller show with many of the Philly Exhibitors

going to Baltimore. There are a few different vendors

in Baltimore who do not make it up to Philly. I went on

a Saturday and the crowd was good sized. Overall, I

enjoyed the show and I am considering a trip down

this year weather permitting.

Hi! I'm car-less in Phila and looking to hop a ride or co-ordinate amtrak-shuttle with any one else in the area heading down to the show. I am flexible in regards to which day, but probably doing a day trip only so will happily find my own way home if need be. Thanks in advance.....

I live in the Baltimore metro area and was thinking of attending just to get a feel of what a pen show is like.

Quick question for folks who have been before - is the Baltimore pen show (or really any pen show, I've never been to one before) the sort of place that I could bring a well behaved two-and-a-half year old? I won't be offended if the answer is "no"! :)

Ugh...I have to work this weekend, and it's gonna be a long, very long, week at work.

So, I NEED to go to this pen show before I...I...I hit someone!

I have never been to the Baltimore show, just Philadelphia and D.C. Hoping to get down there for a day trip on Saturday. Looking forward to it.

I am hoping that maybe I can make it on Saturday. Keeping my fingers crossed for better weather here.

My husband had offered to drive me to it. But I realized that I have to drive down south in just a week and a half from now, and 5 hours (each way) to Baltimore right before a 20 hour drive in possibly bad weather just made me hurt too much. :crybaby:

Have fun, everyone.
