Fpn Supporters, Unite!

A big thank you Wimg and the entire team of FPN for running such an awesome site : this is no doubt a huge huge job !

If I don't sound weird, I think FPN can ask for just $5 ( five ) annually as member fee or donation, whatever you call it. That will help the Forum quite a bit . Simple economics. Just a constructive idea.

Best Regards,

Pankaj

Finally in a position to become a supporter. Thanks for everything you guys do!

I think I signed up for a recurring annual payment of $35USD through PayPal. Hope it helps a little.

Thank you kindly, guys, much appreciated!

Warm regards, Wim

The support we are getting currently through the new FPN Supporter Donation options, actually is truly amazing. I feel humbled by the kindness of our members, as in the past two months we have gone from a situation where we were getting desperate for funds, to the comfortable position of having funds to keep at least the site running for the next 12 months, which is absolutely awesome!

We would never want to force anybody to have to contribute here, and I do think with the Iridium Donor and FPN Supporter options, we now do cover that ground. We will likely set it up slightly differently, as in easier to find, over the next few weeks.

And the next step would be to collect enough funding to appoint a more permanent solution for the technical management and upkeep of the site and server.

Warm regards, Wim

I owe so much to this forum, the admins, and the wonderful people who share their love for all things pointy and their friendship so willingly.

Thank you moderators and FPN members!

$60.00 a year doesn't even begin to "repay" my debt to you all!

Coming up on the 10th anniversary of my joining, and after innumerable pens and inks, I'm pleased to become a supporter, and many thanks to Wim, the administrators, moderators and members who have always made this a welcoming, informative and stimulating place. Here's to the next 10 years of success here!

Just a quick question (and I do apologise if I missed this somewhere) is it possible to pay for our memberships via paypal? I wasn't sure, as I didn't see a paypal button at the bottom - just the various credit card logos. I did see mention of paypal at the top, but I thought I would just ask to clarify. Thanks for all that you do! I'm looking forward to supporting FPN.

Yes, we do everything via PayPal, and that is why those credit cards etc. are shown too, because you can contribute even without having a PayPal account, as it'll accept credit cards without requiring a PayPal account.

Just tripped over this thread, and so glad for it. I'm in, with pleasure.

Thanks for all you do, Wim and the rest of the crew!

Why are there fourteen samples of dark plum ink on my desk? Because I still haven't found the right shade.

Is that a problem...??? : : : sigh : : :

Update: Great. Finally found one I love (Lamy Dark Lilac) but I can't get more. Ah, life in my inky world....

I don't particularly need all the benefits associated with Platinum Donor membership, but I would be sad to see the site suffer for want of support. So, I'm in.

Thank you all! Much appreciated!

The benefits are just our way to say "thank you for supporting us!"

If someone had donated in the past, would they get notified from FPN or from Paypal that it was time to renew?

If you did pay via a monthly or annual subscription, and haven't cancelled that, yes you would.

With a once-off donation you would not be notified.

Thanks, Wim!

I must have made a one-time donation last year. I finally found it in my records.

Something like this?

http://www.cafepress.com/fountainpennetwork/9952692

Just push the button <<Store and Support>> and choose <<Cafe Press>> and take it from there...

Another way to show your support both visually and financially...

I've purchased a few of the Tees. Can't buy just one, ya know how it is when you have Grandchildren!! They are nicely made, and do support FPN. Get quite a few questions and that's all I need to start talking about FP, Paper and Ink!!

Nearest B & M is over 100 miles away and in such a large City not too many folks from here go. I've not been, would love to go but its been difficult in last couple of years ~~~ most of the time I have had the FP Addiction. I'll get there, but I may do havoc to my finances then!

Then your up-keep.

May be your Down-falll!!!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
