How broad and wet is the twsbi bold nib? Most of the reviews here are for the other nib sizes. I've got a twsbi 580al with bold nib coming my way in about a week, so I was wondering. For comparison, I've been using my only fp so far (platinum 3776 century m nib).

Here's a tool that I use all the time for just these questions:

I have a TWSBI B nib on my 580 and I find it like most other B nibs. It is not stubbed like their 1.1's or even like Pilot's B nib in their 78g's

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

It will be significantly wider than the m you have in your platinum. It is a German nib after all-even if the pen is made in Taiwan.

Just an update, I've using my 580-AL with B nib for the past 3 weeks and its been better than I thought. Coming from my 3776 I thought the steel nibbed Twsbi wouldn't be smooth, but it is, and surprisingly so. I do miss the springiness of a gold nib though. Its fairly wet and allows for more sheening than the Plat. Contrary to what I'd expected, it's fairly usable for daily note taking and drawing diagrams. Here are some writing samples. After using this I can see why Japanese nib sizes run 1 size smaller than European ones; I struggled with the Chinese characters and kanji/katakana using this nib.twsbi b writing sample.jpg
