Greetiings:

New member here.

Looking for help to repair my Grandfather's Sheaffer's LifeTime fountain pen.

Have nib and (broken) engraved barrel plus reservoir spring. Need nib holder/body and refill lever. I found a supplier for the ink sacs on eBay. I intend to preserve (glue) the barrel because of the engraving.

Thanks.

What is the inside diameter of the barrel?  I might have a section that would fit.

Thank you for the welcome. I have been collecting fountain pens for 60 years. I have a small collection, perhaps 30 pens. An eBay seller in the U.K. told me about you just a couple of days ago.Glad to be here and looking forward to many "conversations".

Thanks!

The inside diameter of the barrel looks like 10.2 mm (0.402 inches).

Welcome !

Certainly you recognize that your grandfather's pen has suffered  extensive damage.

Replacement parts, rather than repair, might be the better route to achieving a working

pen.

What other fountain pens do you have in your collection ?

Best of luck.

Happy New Year !

Hello Donald and welcome to FPN.

Ehh, that is some major damage. I am not a repairperson, but I doubt that barrel will be repairable into functional integrity. Of course you could put it together for display functions.

If the nib is OK, you could perhaps better search for a nibless pen.

Anyway, the Repair Q&A forum will be able to give you more detailed information.

Enjoy the forum

Hello Donald and welcome from Montana, the last best place. D.ick is certainly right, you will get great advice in the repair q&a forum. It may make sense to find a professional repairman, of which you will find many here, rather than undertake the repairs yourself.

It will make a wonderful family keepsake for generations to come. Enjoy the forums.
I beg to remain, Sir or Madam, your most humble, historical valediction using, and obedient servant, Oslowe
