Could you give a little explanation on what exactly a "valentines day swap" is?

I am the artist formally known as Ambrose Bierce (I recently changed my username from that). If you love me you'll check out my blog http://fpinkgeek.blogspot.com/ or follow me on Instagram and Twitter @Fp_Ink_Geek :D

I suspect it will be like the Secret Santa exchange she ran in December.

You sign up, she pairs people off, and you send the other person pen-related stuff within a certain price range by a certain date.

I think I'm in, BTW -- although I'm not sure I have Valentine's related wrapping paper.

When you put it that way, it sounds delightfully naughty. Something the wife would not approve of. :P

Hi all Im taking sign ups for the Valentines day pen related swaps . let us go over the rules .. No one under 21 sorry had some young ones last time that messed up some Christmas pkgs . if you are out of the usa I will try to pair you up with someone in your own country , no guarantees though and will not change partners unless you have a legitimate reason

    ....

    1. No junk I don't know why I should have to say this but I do , make sure you send something you would like to receive
    2. Participants must be 21. Thanks
    3. The price will be 20.00 limit 4. if you try you can find items for less than 20.00 .
    4. If you need hints on what to send here goes maybe a cheapie red pen , some heart shaped stickers , a sample vial of red ink , red colored note cards , maybe a heart shaped rubber stamp and a small red ink pad if the person does rubber stamping might want to ask before you send it ,maybe some red sticky notes I find I cant have enough sticky notes LOL ...
    5. You must leave two phone numbers pm them to me don't post them in here
    6. Please be careful not to get animal hair in your pkg as some folks are allergic does this seem pick well.

I'm sorry if it does but I have had problems in the past and I don't want any this time but as we all know sometimes things just happen and someone gets offended , upset , disappointed etc ...I'm sorry but I'm not a miracle worker just a maker of fun and them is the rules as they say . so who is still in ? if so great Im starting the sign up list.

Quick question...

4 Item limit? Does that mean if you don't do a single item for $20, you can do any four items that total up to $20?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

The least number of items you can put in will be ten ....in other words no less than 10 individual items ...and after ten you can put more in if you like just realize you may not get that back ....I hope I made this very clear .

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
