Just found this site. I have many fountain pens...people at work think I am funny. Somehow writing with a fountain pen feels good.

Looking forward to learning more...I am also looking for the perfect blue ink!

Welcome from the NE corner of the state. You found a great to sit back and relax with pen folks.

 

Visit the ink review forum for insight on the blues. I suggest doing a search for reviews by Sandy1 within that forum.

I get it. People at work think I am a little "funny", as well. I blame the fountain pen.

Smooth ink flow and a relaxed writing grip feels good.

Check out Gouletpens.com. They have some nice ink charts for comparison. I like Noodler's Blue,

and Pelikan Royal Blue. However, I consider Private Reserve's DC Supershow Blue to be pure blue.

Hello and welcome! I lived and worked for a number of years in Ft. Myers and was involved the astronomy club there. You're obviously well into the FP hobby so enjoy!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
