First, thank you so much for this comprehensive introduction. Second, it should be noted that, in the U.S., Vanness is now carrying the Callifolio inks. (Yay!)

Yes, that you Vis for your excellent review of this line of inks.  I really appreciate your swabs of Olivestre.  I have found very few dark green colors that I like, but this has potential.  I also like Inti, as well as Anahuac.

Inks by the mL (http://inkbytheml.squarespace.com/) carries 5mL samples of many of the Callifolio line.  I am awaiting my order for the samples now.  As soon as I give them a test run, I will probably make a substantial order with Vanness.

This is amazing. What beautiful inks. Thank you.

Which ink is the one at the bottom of the second Franklin Christoph notebook image? It looks like an orange or brown with gorgeous shading. Also the highly shaded ink at the bottom of the third F-C notebook image (teal-ish)?

Maybe I should also just ask, which ones do you find shade the most?

What a great line-up of inks! I didn't know anything about this brand until I tested it at the San Francisco Pen Show this past weekend (500 unique inks at the show's Ink Testing Station -- 500 pens, no bottles, no cross-contamination) -- and I found this, Callifolio, and was entranced first with Inti and then with the other shades of brown/sepia/orange. I just couldn't decide which one or two (three maybe) I wanted most -- having already stuffed my suitcase with my staple Noodler's inks -- and postponed the decision to the next time I see the inks for sale.

still don't know which one I like best. Inti is definitely up there.

Wonderful thread!  It looks like Omi Osun appears to be a little complex (I see two colors on the paper towel test) and shading-wise Ultramarine and Olifants. :)

visvamitra,

Thanks so much for thoroughly introducing these great inks!

Since the shipping costs to my area are quite high, I'm only going to be able to make one order of these and I need to make it count.

I'm a sucker for shading, so in your time spent with these inks which of them would you consider to be the best shaders?

Do any compare to the shading in Apache Sunset?

Many thanks!

Has anyone ordered directly from Artisan Pastellier? Now being in France I want to order from them. I sent them a message via their site regarding Olivastre which doesn't show up on their site. But they still haven't replied after more than a week...

Yes.

I tried emailing a while back but too with no avail.

I plan to have another go soon as I've fallen for their Gris de Payne (thank you migo984) and would like to try Bosphore, Byzance & Botany Bay too.

For those in the States, or with access - I bought Andrinople from Vanness Pens last fall. They had it at the DC Pen show, in a bag, even! It s a beautiful, well-behaved ink.
