Ok - I have two pens now and I need to sell one of them. I just put one in the classified for $365. This is the replacement I got from Martemodena. I would keep this one it is more brilliant than the one I bought at eBay. But I wanted a piston..Hard to decide. Just letting you know.

Peace & Happy Holidays

It is the "Fountain Pen Delta Dolcevita Oversize Oro"

Delta's . . . I have a love/hate relationship with these pens.

I have had many Delta pens, including the less expensive Horsepower, Vintage, Fusion 82 and Capri Marinas. Some I really love . . . and some I really hate. I think, however, that I still am addicted to Delta's.

I have bought from martemodena before and have had no problem with the seller. The pens purchased were as described. My issues have been with the pen itself - i.e. a Delta issue - mostly nib/feed units not working properly.

When a Delta pen works, it works very well. When they don't work, they either have to go to a nibmeister or sell it/give it away, etc.

With all that said, I just order another 4 Delta pens from martemodena.

Am I really that crazy??????????

That is funny. I went through a lot to get an Oro to work right. Finally, they replaced it with a beautiful pen, with better celluloid than the one I bought elesewhere. However, the one I bought elsewhere was a piston and it cost a bit more. I finally got up enough nerve to sell this one, but I REALLY REALLY LIKE IT. The only reason I am selling is I bought two other pens and need more money. Hard to justify keeping two Oros. As I was waiting on this issue to get straight, I bought a Adivasi style pen. It is my favorite of all my pens.

You are not crazy, just in the Delta Zone.

regards, Chris

I've purchased seven pens from them in the last four weeks. Is there such a thing as Marte Modena Anonymous sessions?

Must.

Stop.

Looking.

  • 2 weeks later...

I hear you about the buying. I just sold about 6 other pens to finance my recent sprees. Also, my wife just just received her first journal and I gave her a pen, ink, case and journal materials. She actually listened for a long time, so I think my collection may be expanding again.

Martemedina is a good shop... I recieved 4 pens.,.

A leaking pen that was not pre greased is normal, always grease those eye droppers.. or just use a converter...

Glad you got it all sorted out... The Folks at MM are great as a whole and the pricing is at times VERY competitive.

Thank you for the advise - I did get that sorted out, but did not know to grease them.

even pens designed as eye dropper fill need grease, and every pen shop, IE Andersons pens and the like sell a small size lite grease... or just go the the hardware store... my grease came from Goulet pens. remember a TINY amount is all you need....

My next Deltas.... or not.. cough gaackk no money to spend cough..,..

are in no order:

The Re Discover Pompei in the large not the medium.. current best price 414 shipped

The
Capri Marina Grande sweet pen...

The Don Quijote... wish it where a bit larger, but its a good sized pen in a stunning red with a Silver releif scene of the infamous figure on horseback

and Finaly last but not least is the ... oops just had an old timer moment... the Darker pen with the sword.. a Limited one ..hummm

I will have to go the mm site to check the name... I like swords.. lol

The stainless steal nibbed pen I have from Delta is not as nice a writer as the 2 14k nibs.. but so so close... just not as much ink or as flex...

In all honesty is the coolness factor for me, .. other pens are nice writers as well... but these speak to my soul

Guess what - Martemodena may have blocked me from buying at eBay. Remember I said we had problems with several pens and I returned them. Apparently they got upset. I contacted them through my email correspondence with them to ask what is up, but I could not even email them through eBay.

Oh well, guess I may not be following this thread anymore. Will keep you up to date.

you can still buy direct from the mm site online.. and they really cannot stop you from buying .. lots of work arounds as far as ebay...

sorry about the block.... I heard another guy who was blocked after he bought a limited edition mis-priced on ebay at 30.00 or so...

good luck

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
