Taccia Covenant

Why do I find myself liking this pen at the back of my mind?!

Anyway, since this has been happening, I've now reluctantly decided to possibly get one, I just need some extra ensuring that it's a good pen. Do you have one&can you point out why you like it or not, the flow, nib, design, etc.?

Thanks!

I've got my eye on the Midnight Blue one too, so any reviews or information about these would be greatly appreciated.

I saw this pattern at the Los Angeles pen show in 2013 before it was commercially available. I then purchased the black model a few months later. Mine writes really well and I think it's a great pen. I'm not sure why it isn't more popular. But then Taccia doesn't seem to do a lot of marketing.

What do you guys think, black or parchment? I am being drawn towards the black for some reason. Maybe it is the fact that black is more of a fountain pen colour or just looks more appealing with this pen. Which do you think I should choose?

meh... I like the Covenant better. Looks nicer, in my opinion.

I only heard the brand Taccia name thrown about less than the fingers on your hands. But the brand Kaweco is throw around more than the grain of sand on the beach.

And there are many other competitors in the Pocket pens dept some offers more or just some are far cheaper. The Classic sport is shorter than Covenant. The Covenant is just in a odd space in the market and their only bonus is the handmade status and maybe the looks.

Hahahaha yeah the thing is I'm standing here with my credit card and just wondering (actually screaming for someone to give me advice )

That's just it! I don't know :(

Look at older reviews?

If you do a jump buy it can be a risky move. Especially if you don't know the brand before. If you do your gut has the answer. (I had enough trust of Pilot that it why I was able to jump on my Justus95.)

I have never owned a Taccia before. My gut is torn :P

I personally I see more worth in their bone stuff. (This one like http://www.penchalet.com/fine_pens/fountain_pens/taccia_savanna_fountain_pen.html ) Because appox 100 USD in a plastic steel nibed, wanabe pocket pen. Doesn't seem very good in my price to feature ratio.

I see more worth in the Pilot E95s as that is a bigger pocket pen(smaller than the covenant) and have a 14k gold nib.

After all you have the cash and you make the choice.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
