My favorite is my neon yellow safari, also my first. My dream Color would be lime with a gold nib and clip on an al-star.

I love my turquoise Lamy. I have a number of other colors, but that's my favorite. My next favorite would probably be the pink one.

The aquamarine one, and the blue one with the red clip, both of which I missed out on :(

I'm trying to limit my Safari/Al Star purchases since they're basically the same pen, and I don't wanna fall down that hole. That said, the white one is really also starting to grow on me ¬___¬

Useless to resist my friend! I was sticking to a yellow Safari... 20 pens later, there's no end in sight!

I was only going to buy the special edition colors. Then the white Safari stayed on my mind. I thought I could use that for Christmas and put green ink in it. So I bought one. Then the ocean blue Al-Star looked so nice in photos. The Kansas City Royals were sweeping their playoff series, so I thought I could get the blue Al-Star to mark that.

That should probably do it for the regular colors. But oh I want the 2015 Al-Star SE! Mmm, a great shade of orange.

I'm a big fan of orange, so my orange Safari is probably my favorite. Anxiously waiting the new orange Al-Star.

Don't have a terra cotta, and probably never will, but I would love to own one.

My favorite show far that I own is my beautiful Al-Star Blue/Green (or my personal nickname, Alfa Romeo Top Gear Speciale Green).. I hope to own soon is another Al-Star but in Blue/Sea Blue.. I really like their shade of blue.

Safari silver blue , transparent nib section , black cap cross and F nib. That is the safari that I love. My next choice is the glossy black safari with M nib. And I have them both by choice and not by chance.

Clear Lamy Vista. Pumps up the nerd factor of the Safari up to the max.

For Al Star, definitely the Ocean Blue

Don't sweat the small stuff....and it's all small stuff.

I only have three, but I carry two which are my favorites. Now, I am not as knowledgeable about Lamys as many of you so allow me to describe the one I love best, one is a light blue and its pocket clip is red. Also, I carry around daily a black one, which I believe is also a limited edition version. The third is a lime green version. I still like it, but it has a steel version nib I don't care for so I don't carry it much.

Classic Glossy Black personally :)

Looking at a Goulet Pen Company video titled Goulet Q&A Episode 65, Open Forum, he says the black will be a regular edition, instead of the special edition it was last year. He said in addition to the rust orange this year, there will be a neon green as another limited edition Safari coming out latter part of this year. I too like the black.

Have they actually made either in Matte? I don't think the black they had last year is a glossy, it is not aluminum. I would like either of the choices you mentioned if they came it matte. There is something about the glossy which I don't particularly care for as a regular pen to use often and abandon others.

Probably quite boring of me, but I love the look of the white safari with the grey dot on the cap. It's become my favorite.

Count me in on the Ocean Blue Al-Star.

I find Safari's a little light in the hand but I do love that Neon Coral and will get one for my niece as a gift.

Not boring at all, to me....very elegant. And easy to see :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
