Where n is the number I havê today...

When discussing the sane number of pens we must understand how the pens are used. People use them for work and for amusement. The number of work pens can have a rational limit. Primarily because expenses and profit must be balanced. Still an artist may need a far larger number of pens with inks of different colors than a lawyer. When we speak of amusement, there can be no sane limit. It's like having too many books in your library.

Also fountain pens are a very fortunate obsession, for they don't occupy much space. Of course, stamps are even better in this respect!  :)
