Thank you for posting this great comparison Mishka! The Chiku-Rin and the Army Green look beautiful and I much prefer the darker tones of the Vert Olive in your writing sample than the way it looked when I tested it. You've made me want to try it again :P

You know your inks! Respect :)

Olive green DID NOT like Tomoe Riger at all! It took forever to dry and colour was indeed a lot darker than on other paper (It's yellow-green shade in L1917)....I will re-ink the pen with fresh ink and get back to you :D

 

@amber thanks hun, I have no time to play/practice...birds are still bad - but I like doing them, so ;)

EVERYTHING akes forever to dry on Tomoe River.

 

I like olive toned inks as well. There are just so many variations. Right now my favorites are the Defoe and the Stipila

Fantastic, thanks! I love these unusual colors. The Stipula is one of my favorites along with MB Jonathan Swift Seaweed Green. I'm gonna have to try Diamine Salamander and MB Defore Palm Green.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
