T W S B I Loaner Program

Art did a Baoer Medium to a cursive Italice and a Broad Levenger TW to a stub!! I don't have anything too fancy for working on, but was wondering if I should take my medium Reform demonstrator done as it's pretty boring as is. The only other choices would be a Phileas, Laureat or a Harmonie. Any ideas or suggestions??

I love the two I have, but the Baoer nib is rather soft and I'm afraid it may not last that long.

So, what's your point?

No ideas or suggestions. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with any of those pens! If it were me, I'd probably send the one that I found boring to use, though. I'm a big fan of pens that use #6 nibs so that I can swap interesting nibs between a variety of pens.

Send them all!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I wish my mommy had cool fountain pens and ink that I could use. My mom used to tell me that she tried to turn herself in to the used mommy store, but they wouldn't take her back.

HA! You're both wrong - he likes me better and I'm next in line (well, after Amber of course). He already has my nibs so get in line, suckas!! :P

I am offended. And hurt. That is not fair! :crybaby: Ok, I don't care actually. I still have Amber's loaner so my life is complete for now until I get my own Tomahawk! :bunny01:

P.S. What is the funniest part of this whole thing is that is has set in stone my need for italic nibs. I've tried to re-profile two nibs since (just for fun and not really at all like Art's) and I swear, my first ever attempt was smoother. Is it possible that my "skills" can get worse over time? Art probably cast a curse on me so I buy endless amounts from him. :lticaptd:

The Tomahawk is worth waiting for and, knowing Art, you won't be waiting long. :)

I know what you mean about Art's work changing your perspective. Between him and Amber, I now love B nibs and all flavors of stubs and have zero tolerance for any nib that's not glassy smooth.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
