Dear FPN friends.

I hereby review an Ink of the much loved J Herbin company... Olive Green.

I did this review in a bit of a different way than I usually do.

Tributes

I pay a tribute to Visamitra, American Poet Walt Witman and Austrian writer Stefan Zweig....

It was Visamitra who brought me to the Idea of paying these Tributes,,,, Visamitra posted a review of Organics Studio Walt Whitman a very nice green brown ink, As usual Visamitra did an EXCELLENT job here  .... In my humble opinion that is worse a tribute :) ...

Got you interested in this review.... here is the link...

https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php/topic/273817-walt-whitman-leaves-of-grass-organics-studio/

Read it both the Ink and the review are utterly cool

Zweig and Whitman

Well How does Zweig and Whitman fit in here???

.Just in short,,,, Walt Whitman is a famous American writer and poet,

fpn_1410264310__walt_whitman.jpg

I first read about him in a book By Dr Stefan Zweig... The world of Yesterday.... Read it it tells you a lot OF European History and Culture betwen let's say 1870 and 1942.... Easy to read and very informative.... Stefan Zweig tells a lot about Waltman here

For those of You not interested I first inserted a Sampler form with the basic specs.... If I got you interested read the rest...

Or take a sneek peak for a better Judgment of this beautiful ink..

Some Poetry :happyberet:

Too Conclude

I absolutely love J Herbin, Herbin seems to be a synonym for shading

I love this ink for it's good ´behaviour.... It is a jolly happy colour which truly reminds me of the Oive trees I see in France and Italy frequently....

Wow and that shading :puddle:

I do hope that I got you interested in some wonderful persons and some beautiful literature/poetry too :happyberet:

Tricked throughout the centuries...

In the 20th century people got tricked by communism

Today people get tricked by (neo)capitalism :)

Stefan Zweig is one of my favorite authors! Glad to see another Zweig (and Walt Whitman!) fan here. :)

I, too, am a big fan of J. Herbin ink. I do have the Vert Olive but admittedly it doesn't get used much.

Thank you for sharing!

Cool to hear you love Zweig too... Do you like Stephan Roth (Hiob, Radetzky March etc... )

I love Dutch journalist and historical writer Geert Mak too... In German Europa, an epic travel through the historical stages of 20th Europe. and amerika where he follows the trail of Joh Steinbeck in Travels wiht Charly....

Maybe we could change postcards/letters on this subject....

Lectori Salutem (this time correctly spelled wihtout an E)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
