I was hoping that's someone could buy the name and maintain C-S's unbroken history of pen manufacturing.

gary

Sorry but Conway Stewart doesn't have an unbroken history of pen manufacturing. The original Company which started production in 1905 ceased making pens in the 1970's. The modern Conway Stewart pens were made by a brand new Company.using the Conway Stewart brand name.

I'm willing to bet the poster was being ironic.

The word is iconic.

Don't be difficult.

We're legends in our own minds?

Can't speak for anyone else, but I have a lot of spare room up there.

Put frankly, I have never seen such a waste of time by so many, concerned with this thread. It seems very much like every prior post has to be challenged by someone with a bigger number or, something else!

Sad that so many have so little to do with their life apart from ignite and then, fire their cannons at others on this forum. It is all pointless. Don't you all understand that? Conway Stewart is (sadly) gone, dead, caput. It is no more. Why continue to bang on about feeds, nib slits, nib vents etc. Unfortunately, the cause of Conway Stewart's demise has nothing to do with those trivial issues in respect of which, I have seen so much inaccuracy in recent days.

There has been very little maturity or accuracy in the countless posts on this topic. If discussion in recent days is the objective view of FPN members, I have only one piece of advice - get a life!

One can see why holes have been a main topic on this thread.

I'm sure he meant Masonic.

You mean Moronic?

Post Script

For what it's worth, I really don't like the hat in your avatar.

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Dr. Seuss would have a field day with that one...

Come on guys....a man's hat is above condemnation...really one of the few dirty, filthy things you can wear as a badge of honor with the added bonus of both covering a really bad hair cut and saving the bald patch from sun burn.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
