Yes, I think it is my fault declaring lower value and I can save some import tax.

But the eBay custom support did not want to see the truth of he planned it from the start.

I will do my best not to let it rest.

If all the method is in vain, I will announce the name and ID.

Let's calm down a little.. First try to assess the situation.

Get an estimate as quickly as possible for repair at Montblanc. I am assuming since it's a limited edition it will have to be worked on in Hamburg, Germany.

If it ends up costing you until $800 then I say you're alright. Provided that you got the box as well. Mintblanc will replace what's necessary and the pen will be nice again.

Yes call your credit card company. I do not understand why your buyer protection was closed. Call ebay and speak to them on the phone if you have not already.

Paypal said they are a branch of eBay and they can not solve the problem after eBay decide what to do.

Credit card company said that they will help me to block this transaction but it is very hard and time spending.

If all the solution is in vain, I will post all process and seller name, ID here.

As I said, in the meantime contact Montblanc for a repair quote.

This is a pen which in time you can sell for up to $2,500 and possibly more in the future. If you paid $1,825 you have about $700 to spare on fixing it should you want to sell it, or keep it and enjoy it.

That's not to say you shouldn't follow up the seller and try to seek compensation.

Being said, I don't think naming the seller on FPN will do you any service and doubt the board policy will allow it.

If Montblanc can't give you a speedy estimate, there are some excellent people on this Board who might be able to repair it for you and give you a quote.

The montblanc service said that they can not give me the quote of repairing before physical checking.

I do not live in USA and there is no excellent people live in Taiwan.

The seller dose not want to repsonse me any more.

But paypal provide a chance to claim the refund now, but I do not have any Confidence in it.

I am so helpless.

I will try to solve this problem hardly.

Never give up to argue this unfair dealing.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
