That's nice you get to see the inks in pens.

But at the retail price in the US, to collect them all would run you about $1500. I wonder if these are going to be available outside Japan. I don't see many retailers willing to spring a ton of money to have a nice display of 100 inks. A nice concept, and at half the price they'd probably sell quite well.

question though who calls the shots to make the Nagasawa Inks available internationally? Sailor or Nagasawa?

because I was able to finally buy them from our pen stores locally and I recently bought 墨香 (I'm not sure how many times they produce this ink) and Old foreigner ward's seipa

hopefully I can get Vintage Sepia soon

These 12 inks are SAILOR bottle ink original Kujukuri coastal limit 50 ml sold by Youstyle on Rakuten. Scheduled to be released at the end of May 2018. I am not sure if they are pigmented or not. I don't think so.

Sailor Kobe #66, seishi cobalt sky. I liked desk bandits swab so i gave it a try. 66 belongs to the SOUTEN family, same/similar hue as Souten, 17 or 58. 17 is the lightest of them, 58 in the middle and Souten sheens most of them in the pooled/wet arreas. 66 is closest to Souten, sheens a lot in daker arreas, the only difference is that while remaining thress have pink/red bright sheen (souten has darker undertone too), 66 sheens slightly daker. looks like a souten and 58 mix. :)

I have to say I really like the presentation of the new Kingdom Note inks. Very well done. These inks look to be in line with the recent editions of Crustaceans and Jellyfish rather than the earlier Butterfly and Bird series. Depends on what you want.

For those still interested, Nakabayashi has a new Sailor ink line As I can not post pics from my iPad I asked our Bruno Taut for his permission to link to his blog.

This subject is no longer at the top so scroll down a bit. The ink I got has a silver sheen to it. Very nice.

So far, yes. There seems to be a belief that other colors may follow.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
