Miujojo32 - You must have someone in Tokyo who loves you a whole lot to get those inks so fast!! Thanks for posting your swabs here on this thread.

I just hope my comment won't get buried

has anyone got any info on what will Sailor do with their Storia line up, why make the 20ml when you still have the 30ml available... and will both lineups will still be available in the long run?

I only ask this because our local sailor retailer said they won't be carrying the 30ml storia inks anymore

I also heard that. One staionery shop staff in Japan told me that 30mls are only available while stocks last.

If the amount of Storia available on eBay is any indication, they can't sell any of it. I'd sell all I bought, if I thought I could get anything for it. Just my humble opinion . . .

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

so that means 20ml will be the main line for the ink I mean sure it is "cheaper" but... I don't know what Sailor is thinking at this point kinda afraid to ask in twitter as well

they kinda turned it also similar to Diamine's "set" inks as well so you can buy 8 inks as a gift set...

I never got the impression that Storia was much loved and sales were not very good. That's just a guess based on not having many people talk about it. Maybe the line is popular in China, Japan.

The STORiA inks are my most regretted purchase.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were Sailors most regretted production!

I tried to find interest when they appeared; it seemed as tho they came @ a time when there weren't a lot of new inks available from Sailor or their Specialty productions. I was unable to convince myself I needed ANY of them; it would be one of the FEW times I ever failed to go nuts chasing after a newly visible ink. I am sure I have something else that in hindsight I would rather not have purchased but I enjoy them all when received, some just get more frequent use than others.

Make sure he knows how many bottles he can put in his carry on. You don't want these precious to get confiscated.. :(

Style Dee Delta has two new colors in their lineup as of March 19th:

Tenma Ouro, aka Tenma Sakuraji - a pink

Horikawa Hicui, aka Horikawa Jade - a rich blue-green teal

They are coming my way, and will do my usual review magic soon once they arrive.

While they list these two new inks on their usual page of "Water City" inks, the links go to empty pages, unlike the older inks which have pages with images and info. So they perhaps have removed these two inks from internet sales, or have already sold out. I know the links used to work, so there could be some other issue as well. But sold out, or, restricted to in store only purchase, is the most likely answer.

The link below is to their announcement, and really does work. It looks funny because it contains Japanese characters.

Also they have raised their prices from 2100¥ to 2376¥.

Don't care for pink... but the other blue-teal looks very pretty... very "Yama-dorish".. looking forward to your review. ;)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
