We have the Pelikan 205 fountain pens discounted at 50% off. This is a great buy on a great fountain pen. The full retail on this pen is $195 and we are selling it for $97.50 with free shipping within the US.

We have four colors available. Choose from black, white, red or taupe. We only a few fine nibs left but have plenty of the extra fine and medium.

Although most of the Pelikans in my collection are vintage I took advantage of this offer to buy a red 205. The free postage is a nice touch!

I have a vintage 400 coming in from Germany any day now and if I like the size of the pen then I will buy a red M205 if they haven't sold out.  It's a sweet deal.

What a good deal! I am really liking the look of the taupe. I was planning on making the Lamy 2000 my next big purchase, but I may have to do some reprioritizing...

Can't pass this up; in for a taupe (and a Monteverde I've had my eye on for a while as well...).

Taupe here too--(thought I'd be in the minority with that selection)... Can't decide on a suitable ink for a taupe pen with a fairly big ink window, though...Diamine Green-Black, maybe...? Other suggestions...?

Couldn't pass up on that Pilot Knight deal either...

Mine arrived today!

In this age of text, twitter, skype and email, receiving a good old-fashioned hand-written letter feels just like a warm hug.

My Pelikan arrived today too. Hey, taupe is cool! Its fine nib required a little adjustment to increase the flow/wetness to my preference but five minutes later and it's nice and juicy, but still precise. --Well pleased.

Ugh... I keep on going back to pen. Not sure if I should get it or not. Might be the only time I can get this for sub 90 USD.

I have to decide what nib size.  Medium or broad?  Fine and XF look too small.  And, sadly, that's all that's left in the red.  Ah well, there's white.

I've found that Pelikan nibs tend to run a bit larger than your typical Western nib sizes.  For example, the Pelikan Fine is more like a Medium from another, non-Japanese manufacturer.  I have never used an M205, but the M600 and M800 nibs definitely run large.  This is not universal, there is no official standard for nib sizes and every company does their own thing.

Nibs.com has a nice nib tipping size chart at:

That is interesting.  I had seen Richard Binder's nib sizing chart, but had missed that one.  Goulet's Nib Nook seems to agree with nibs.com as well.  I think the Medium.

Lou,

Too bad you did not ask me about the Pelikan nibs.

I had a medium in my 200.

But it was too wide for me and I swapped my B nib for a XF nib that I got at the show.

update:  I seemed to have missplaced the M nib.  CRUM

I looked for it to put into my other Pelikan and could not find it.

Now I'm POed and have to buy a new nib.

There has been a lot of questions about which nib size to select. One nice thing about Pelikan is they offer a free nib swap within the first 30 days of purchase. You do have to pay to ship the pen to them and it takes about a week but they will exchange the nib for free to different size of your choosing and then ship it back for free. You are only out the shipping to them and the added time without the pen

Lou

I found the Pelikan M nib.

Let me know when you go to the next SF Pen Posse, and I will bring it in a M200 for you to try.

I just pulled the trigger on the Red in EF. I had trouble deciding between red or white, both are nice colors.

I'm looking forward to playing with it as this will be my very first piston filler.

I got my taupe one a few days ago and it's wonderful. I love the size; it's perfect for my hands. Nib was a little scratchy but I realigned the tines and it works well, now. Thanks PenChalet!

The white M I ordered arrived just fine.  I might have ordered the red and done the nib swap if I'd have known... I'm resisting doing it anyway.  =)

I guess I'm safe - they've run out.  :)

I am really struggling to resist this. I have gone to the site and put that pen in my cart a few times in the last couple days. I DO NOT need another pen. I have half dozen inked up on my desk already but good lord that is a deal and I do not own a Pelikan, and it is a piston filler. And everyone is blabbing about Obama's Taupe suit.

oof.

Tell me you got this pen and it is horrible.
