Esties are among my very favorite pens because they are so versatile, good looking, well made, affordable, and pleasant to write with. I the photo below shows my entire Estie collection, but there might be some that I hidden somewhere.

Top row: Pastel blue cartridge pen (model name unknown to me) (2556)

               Red Safari (9788)

Clear cartridge pen (model name unknown to me) (nib says "Esterbrook Medium") (this is fun to use as an eyedropper)

In the Box (left to right):

                Gray Safari (1551)

                Dark Blue Safari (2556)

Red LJ Icicle (2442 Falcon Stub - Awesome!)

Olive green ("Deluxe" I think) (9668)

Green J (My first Estie!) (9668)

Grey J (No nib at the moment)

                Black J (2668)

                Red J (2556)

                Blue J (2668)

                Green LJ (1554)

Lovely. I'm really getting the "jones" for another Estie.

I know the feeling. Right now I'm trying to get all the Js, LJs, SJs, transitionals, and dollars in all the colors. Still have a ways to go...

Well...I have 5 more coming, in varying conditions, I'm sure.  I also just restored a yellow Estie CH purse pen for my girlfriend for Christmas.  I like the repair/restore more than the actual having.

Amen!  LOL.  I about had a stroke this week.  I was cleaning some nibs, and one fell out of my hand to the kitchen floor.  One 9668 now damaged.  It looks like I will be learning how to fix nibs out of necessity.  To make things worse, I just got my first Sheaffer, and I'm in the middle of a Snorkel repair, which I'm finding to be actually pretty easy.

Here's my surviving lot (got a few on life support in the hospital box):

PenInks.JPG

The blue Estie now sports a 2048 flexible nib, and the copper is inked with Diamine Ancient Copper; all else remains the same.

Inks to match the pens...nice!  I'm not as good - my daily pens have a black, but I keep a red Hero 616 with Diamine Poppy Red and a green one (couldn't get blue) with P.R. Tanzanite.

I may have to put the sample of P.R. Gray Flannel in the gray snorkel when it's ready to use.

My skills with a camera are lacking but here is my downfall, oops, collection. I've searched only for some skunks once, the rest just sort of "happened".

I'm catching up....although very slowly.  I'm also working on taking pictures a little better.  This is with my phone, which may be better than my camera.

I plan on selling some.  I'm getting more out of fixing and cleaning them than actually having them.  I have two more black coming, and I think another one.  I also have a transitional J in copper that I'll sell when I get a clip and jewel for the cap.

I need to invest in some green ink, the better to indicate my envy with.  :)
