Whilst writing with my trusty M200, I started thinking about looking up how much a new one costs, since you can never have too many, and the green marbled one would make a nice companion to my black one. You can imagine my surprise then, in discovering that many online retailers, including the one I bought it from, did not seem to stock the M200 any more.I wonder if Pelikan is pulling it off the shelves to replace it with the P200, which I remember them promising not to do in a Facebook post. After all, most retailers I checked did seem to have the P20X family in stock.

Ah! All right! must admit I didn't even think of that... Still, why would La Couronne du Comte (no affiliation obviously) and others not stock it any more, except for limited editions... I suppose one can always email them...

Thanks!

It's a shame that the M200 hasn't seen any inspiring additions of late.  The Clear and Cognac demos are nice but nothing groundbreaking in the series considering they are the exact same colors as the preceding M200 clear/amber demos and the M250 clear/amber demos.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count.  My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Isn't that the truth! Still, It would be a great pity for such an affordable and reliable workhorse classic to slowly disappear in favour of a C/C version.

Richard Binder's site is out of the standard green marbled model. Fountain Pen Hospital still has them. David Nishamura has them with 14K nibs. Zeller Writing Co has some depending on the nib.

Either Pelikan is coming out with a new M200 style so stores are putting the old model on sale to reduce inventory, or they're dropping it for the C/C version.

Is the P200 classic the new Pelikan fountain pen that only takes and uses cartridges, I must admit though their cartridge tins are very nice and stylish. They come in all the Edelstein colours.

The green marbled Pelikan M200 is currently unavailable due to a material supply problem. It happened before a couple or three years ago but came back into production. I hope it will come back soon. No problem (as far as I am aware) with the black M200.

The thing is the piston is the main selling point in the 200/205 price range. I would never have got a 205 unless it was a piston.
